RedMan Instructor

This program is designed to prepare the instructor to train and supervise demonstrators in the proper use of RedMan® Training Equipment. Decades of "lessons learned" have taught RedMan Instructors that they should not be wearing the RedMan® Equipment. Instead, these instructors should be supervising properly trained and supervised demonstrators who are wearing the protective equipment. Supervisors should "supervise" training drills and simulations, not be a part of the melee. Only then can training drills and simulations be conducted effectively, realistically, and, most of all, safely. The entire course is based on the premise that the instructor will go back and train and supervise a cadre of properly selected and trained demonstrators.

Instruction will deal with incorporating the instructors existing techniques and tactics into drills that utilize Tactical Communication, subject control, aerosol sprays, impact weapons, and lethal force up to and including the use of training munitions. The Seven Levels of Simulation will be explored as will be the use of a full range of defensive tactics training tools including training weapons, striking shields, and impact training protective equipment. This course will develop the building blocks to assist instructors in developing the skills necessary to lead to future training scenarios. Using the "isolation exercise" concept, instructors will understand, participate in , and learn how to train their demonstrators in how to cover this crucial middle ground.

Topics that will be covered are:

  • Learn the parameters of use & misuse, correct sizing, proper donning, correct use & care, sanitation, equipment repair, and repacking & storage of the RedMan® XP Suit including Climatization Drills
  • Learn how to train demonstrators to move in the RedMan® XP Suit, protect themselves from the environment, and how to take blunt force impact during training drills and simulations
  • Review RedMan® Product Guide, Warnings & Cautions, and Product DVD to assist the instructor in the proper use of this equipment
  • Learn how to use the Seven Levels of Simulation in Shadow Training, Prop Training, Partner Training, Dynamic Movement Training, Relative Positioning Training, Environmental Factors Training, and High Level Simulations
  • Learn how to keep your demonstrators and officers safe through Training Injury Liability Management that includes how to evaluate wellness & fitness levels, conduct defensive tactics training at the proper intensity levels for maximum results, and manage, when necessary, training injuries..
  • Learn how to use the RedMan® WDS Suits with new WD2 Head for training munitions training using Simunition FX and/or AirSoft weapons
  • Learn how to use the RedMan in Isolation Drills designed to maximize training time in preparing officers for future decision making scenario based simulations.
  • Use of Polar heart rate monitors

Shaykhet Confrontation Training Program

Lee Shaykhet was born in the former Soviet Union. He graduated from Moscow University and provided training for the military. In 1979 he emigrated to the U.S. Since that time he taught numerous training programs throughout the country. Gary Klugiewicz introduced Lee to the Law Enforcement training community. This program is about the typical problems and issues that occur in a confrontation, and how to successfully deal with them. There are some basic concepts that are addressed. There is a principle difference between the traditional approach to self defense, and the practical side of the matter. The simple fact is that people under stressful conditions cannot do complicated step by step techniques. Lee keeps it simple because that actually works. The training deals the psychological stress of a confrontation and how to deal with it. The OODA Loop principle is also explained. There is a scenario based practical part, where the students get to actually put what they learned into practice. The program is broken down into five simple basic concepts.

"I believe that it is smart to keep it simple, this is the foundation of all my training" —Lee Shaykhet
